Short answer
Check the waybill, ask the hotel to search under your booking name, then contact Yamato. A forwarded suitcase can arrive later than expected because delivery times, cut-offs and service areas vary. Check the tracking number on your Yamato receipt, ask the hotel to look under your full guest name and check the carrier’s delivery status before assuming it is lost.
What to do now
- 1Find the waybill receipt.
It contains the tracking number and the exact address you entered.
- 2Ask the hotel to check its luggage room.
Give your booking name, check-in date and the delivery company.
- 3Check the carrier’s tracking status.
Use the official tracking service or contact the carrier with the waybill details.
- 4Contact Yamato if the status does not make sense.
Ask the current hotel for help calling if you need language assistance.
Check the expected delivery date
Same-day delivery is only available at selected counters and areas. Standard hotel forwarding should be sent early enough for the destination stay, and timing can vary by route.
The bag may also be waiting in a hotel storage room under the sending name, receiving name or a spelling variation.
Plan for tonight
Keep a change of clothes, medication, chargers and valuables with you whenever you forward a case. If the bag is delayed, buy only the essentials and keep receipts until the carrier explains the outcome.
Do not send a second bag to a new address until the first shipment’s status and delivery address are clear.
FAQ
Can the hotel call Yamato for me?
Many hotels can help, but it is their choice. Have the waybill and your booking information ready to make the request easy.
Can I change the destination while it is in transit?
Ask Yamato directly. Do not assume a hotel or convenience store can reroute a parcel after acceptance.
